International Women’s Day 2023: A Message From Our Sister in Syria

¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ

Around the world, millions of women have been displaced because of conflict, climate change and natural disasters. From Somalia to Myanmar and from Türkiye to Yemen, too many of our sisters are living without proper shelter. Ìý

During our recent visit to Syria, we met so many families living without a roof over their heads – most of them are women and children. In this video, you can hear sister Salma’s thoughts about the struggles displaced women go through on a daily basis:Ìý

Without their privacy, women like Salma struggle to get through each day. They can’t even shower or go to the bathroom without being concerned for their dignity.

We urgently need your support to help us protect vulnerable women in Syria. Donate towards a Syrian Family Home today to preserve the dignity of our beloved sisters. Each home will include two main rooms, a kitchen, a washroom and a small yard giving women the privacy they desperately need. We are also setting up Large Winter Tents in Northern Syria to shelter Earthquake survivors. These family tents will be part of a larger tent city that will include medical facilities and mobile kitchens to shelter them until alternative accommodation is available.
