10 Ways You Can Help Palestine Now

Despite the Gaza ceasefire providing much needed respite for Palestinians in the Gaza strip, the people of Palestine, both in Gaza and the West Bank and Jerusalem continue to face immense challenges. We know they need our ongoing support, but you may be wondering, ‘How can I help Palestine?’Ìý

Don’t worry! We have put together our top ten ways you can make a meaningful difference and help Palestinians, including through your Zakat and Sadaqah.Ìý

  1. Donate food to Gaza

A staggering 90% of Gazans are experiencing extreme hunger. This is exacerbated by the fact that 70% of their crop fields have been destroyed in the latest hostilities.ÌýÌý

  • Give a family food pack, containing essential supplies like flour, rice, lentils and beans to sustain a family of five for 15 days.Ìý
  • Provide hot nutritious meals to displaced people, many with no cooking facilities of their own.Ìý
  • Support bread factories providing a lifeline to vulnerable communities.Ìý

  1. Give food to a Palestinian family in Jerusalem

Our partners, the World Food Programme (WFP), estimate that the escalation of violence in the West Bank that occurred during the latest conflict could increase food insecurity for Palestinian residents by 42.1 percent. Your Zakat and Sadaqah can provide a food pack to a family in East Jerusalem, providing them with enough foodstuffs for an entire month.Ìý

  1. Give medical aid to Gaza

The targeting of hospitals and medical staff and the restrictions on supplies reaching Gaza over the last fifteen months have decimated its healthcare system. A massive 90% of essential medicines are completely depleted. With a minimum of 600 trucks of aid being delivered daily to Gaza since the ceasefire kicked in, now is the time to donate urgently needed medicines and equipment to the strip.Ìý

Mothers and babies in Gaza are particularly vulnerable
  1. Fund Clean Water Projects

97% of Gaza’s water is unfit for consumption as the population relies mainly on seawater for its supply. Donate now to support three desalination plants that will provide clean, safe water to 30,000 Gazans daily for life. This is a perfect Sadaqah Jariyah donation idea.Ìý

A lack of clean water has been a constant issue in Gaza
  1. Sponsor orphans and vulnerable families

According to Palestinian Civil Society, up to 25,000 children in Gaza have lost one or both parents to the latest hostilities. We have been sponsoring orphans in Palestine since 2007.Ìý Our sponsorships have continued throughout the 15 months of bombardment and violence inflicted on Palestinian children. Sponsor an orphan in Gaza or the West Bank for just £29.50 a month to provide crucial support to children who have lost so much.Ìý

You can also sponsor an entire family in East Jerusalem, where 70% of children are living below the poverty line. This will help them with essential expenses like rent, food and medical bills.Ìý

  1. Provide shelter to displaced families in Gaza

Despite the ceasefire, many displaced Gazans have no homes to return to. Your Sadaqah and Zakat can provide sturdy winterised tents to protect them from the elements and give them some degree of privacy. Donations will also go towards house rebuilding once it begins.ÌýÌý

  1. Plant Olive Trees

Olive trees are a symbol of Palestinian resilience and an essential source of income for many families. Planting olive trees is a beautiful act of Sadaqah Jariyah that supports families economically and preserves Palestine’s agricultural heritage and you can give a tree for just £15

The oil and fruit of olive trees form a foundation of Palestinian cuisine and culture.
  1. Preserve Masjid Al-Aqsa

The beating heart of the Palestinian community and the third holiest site in Islam, your donations have been preserving the Sacred Sanctuary since 2008. Now, renovation of the Bab al-Qattanin wudu area is desperately needed.Ìý Donate a share now to receive your free bottle of olive oil from the trees of Al-Aqsa.Ìý

  1. Keep talking about Palestine

Stay informed about the situation in Palestine and use your voice to raise awareness. Share credible information, support campaigns that promote justice and engage with policymakers to advocate for lasting peace and humanitarian aid.Ìý

  1. Make Dua for Palestine

Never underestimate the power of du’a. Pray for safety, well-being and justice for our Palestinian brothers and sisters. Seek Allah’s mercy and guidance for them and ask for a swift resolution to their struggles. By combining our sincere du’as with our righteous actions, we can be a source of strength and hope for Palestine and Gaza, helping them to rebuild their lives, in sha Allah.Ìý

Be the change you want to see today!Ìý

Your actions, no matter how small, can have a big impact. Together, we can be the change our brothers and sisters in Palestine are waiting for. Learn more about our projects in Palestine and Gaza now.Ìý
