Pakistan Earthquake: Your Donations in Action in Mirpur, Kashmir

¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ

On Tuesday 24th September, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck East Pakistan, killing 40 people and injuring hundreds more. The earthquake was so powerful that tremors were felt in Lahore, Peshawar and Islamabad, and as far away as New Delhi, over 800 kilometres away.

The epicentre of the quake was just a few kilometres from Jhelum (Punjab) and New Mirpur City (Pakistan-administered Kashmir). Roads were torn apart, overturning buses and cars, and over 3,500 houses were damaged.

Our teams were immediately on the ground providing emergency relief to survivors in Mirpur, including food, medical aid and shelter:

We will continue providing emergency relief to victims to ease their hardship over the coming weeks. As the only registered international aid agency given permission to work in the area near the Indian border, we are also coordinating the efforts of other British Muslim charities there.

The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Whoever removes from a believer one of the hardships of this world, Allah will remove from him one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection’. [Muslim]

Your donations will provide victims with cooked meals, tents, water, clothes, blankets, and essential household items like toothbrushes and soap. Please give generously to ease the hardship of earthquake-affected families.
