With only three weeks to go until the blessed days of Eid al-Adha, our worldwide teams are in the midst of preparing for your Qurbanis! From checking up on the animals to interviewing the families who will be receiving the meat on the day, this is one of the busiest times of the year and everyone is working hard to facilitate your sacrifices.

Rearing the animals for Qurbani requires a lot of investment from farmers like Ghulam. Right now, he is keeping them nourished with high-quality feed, regularly bathing them to ensure they stay cool despite the rising temperatures, and keeping them sheltered during the hot days and giving them plenty of drinking water. But if generous donors like yourself didn't give Qurbani, all of this time, effort and money would be wasted.
This year, due to inflation, the price of feed in Ghulam's area has increased - meaning it costs more to take care of the animals. However, people's purchasing power has decreased, meaning he is less likely to sell the animals. Your Qurbani lifts the worry from Ghulam's shoulders while helping to feed orphans, widows and impoverished families in his community.
A few years ago, Muhammad had a heart attack while he was working in the fields. Later, he fell ill with a severe stomach problem which meant he couldn't eat anything, and he was afterwards diagnosed with cancer.
Unable to work, his landlord evicted him and he was forced to move his family to a 'slum' house with one room, no kitchen or bathroom and no proper fencing. This elderly cancer patient is now living in terrible conditions and is unable to even afford treatment for his serious illness.
'All my time is spent worrying about my daughters. We don't have a proper home and they sleep on the dirt floor. W are in poverty and we often don't have enough to eat...'
Muhammad and his family are enduring intensely difficult tests right now - but your Qurbani ensures they can share in the blessings of Eid al-Adha and enjoy rare meals with meat during these special days. Your sacrifice is so much more than obligation - it is a compassionate and merciful action which means the world to those who are suffering.
Hassan works as a farmer in a village which is surrounded by IDP camps. He sells cow milk and animals all year round - and thanks to his business, his children get cow milk every day for breakfast. Generally, his family eat maize and beans - meat is a luxury which they enjoy around three times a year.
'Education is life-saving too. It will help them survive in the future', he says. 'Qurbani is a great opportunity for me to sell my animals. I hope that this year it will help me get my two young boys back into school, as they were dismissed when I was unable to pay the school fees'.
